The bad news continues for the Obama administration.
The U.S. economy created a disappointing 113,000 new jobs in January, the Labor Department reported Friday. Analysts expected nonfarm payrolls to increase by 185,000 jobs last month.
Steve Liesman, CNBC’s senior economics reporter admitted the news was "weak" and a "disappointment."
"It’s a weak report, no doubt about it. I think there’s a big disappointment in revisions in regard to December. We had a big number of people who were absent due to weather in December but the number for January was not very large," Liesman said.
