CBS Shows U.S. Soldiers Being Blown Up

Last night on 60 Minutes, CBS news correspondent David Martin reported on long-term brain damage U.S. military personnel are dealing with after serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. The report titled ‘Invisible Wounds of War’ aired footage showing an explosive device detonating near two soldiers standing beside a palm tree. The two soldiers then disappear in an explosive fireball.

In 2008, the same footage caused a political uproar as the DNC used it in an attack ad targeting John McCain.

Additionally, this footage was used in Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11.

Many U.S. media outlets have refused to air excerpts from such videos for several reasons - including out of respect of the servicemen and women depicted in the videos. However, CBS approved the footage and once again exhibited a lack of respect for our military personnel.
