Carney calls presidential budget vote 'gimmick'

White House press secretary Jay Carney dodged questions about the lack of a budget proposal from Senate Democrats, during the Wednesday press briefing:

QUESTION What does it say that Democrats haven't proposed a budget in three years?

CARNEY: Look, we prefer that the senate and congress overall function efficiently. As you know the vote you referred to is yet another gimmick and that’s why the tally will come out the way it does.

Senate Democrats will reject as many as five budgets, including the president's budget, Wednesday.
