The Washington Free Beacon's Senior Editor Bill Gertz attended a historical firearms demonstration Thursday at the U.S. Naval Academy. The event was put on with the help of the United States Marine Corps Historical Company.
The demonstration was intended to educate the Academy's midshipmen on the progression of military technology spanning from muskets to modern M4 carbines.
Gertz managed to get his hands on the famous M1 Garand, the standard rifle for the United States military during World War II (see at 1:41).
