Who's your daddy? For officials in Walton County, Fla., it's Marvin Peavy, a part-time resident of 30A and full-time patriot.
It started in 2020, when Peavy, a real estate developer from Georgia, draped a Trump banner from his three-story mansion along 30A's scenic stretch of Gulf Coast highway. The daily $50 fines started the next year, when Peavy hung a "Trump Won" banner from the house that the county determined violated something called "Scenic Corridor Code 6.10.05." As if the sight of a towering Trump isn't scenic.

With Trump back on the campaign trail, Peavy unveiled gigantic banners stating, "Bulletproof," "You Missed Trump 2024," "Trump Coming Home 2025," "Let's Go Brandon," and, "Who's Your Daddy?" Fifty dollars a day adds up quickly, and by November 2024, Walton County had fined Peavy more than $63,000. He was unmoved.
"Sometimes you work the wrong giant," he said. "The giant wakes up and says, 'you're not going to push me around.'"
Peavy took his case to court, arguing his First Amendment rights let him post any damn thing he pleases on his property, zoning codes be damned. This is still America, so he prevailed, winning a judgment in March that not only erased his fines but ordered the county to cough up $42,000 to cover his legal expenses.
Peavy didn't just pocket the small windfall. No, he doubled down on the Don. His latest display—a majestic "Trump 2028" banner—is certain to piss off the county Karens, as Peavy has earned every right to do.
We're pretty sure the local tyrants aren't going to mess with Peavy anymore. But if they haven't learned their lesson, he can unveil a new defense the next time he's in court: When you're a Washington Free Beacon Man of the Year, they let you do it.
