A clever student at the University of Michigan decided to have some fun with a new program allowing students to choose what pronouns appear by their names on class rosters.
Grant Strobl is now to be referred to by professors and fellow students as: "His Majesty."
My new identity is His Majesty Grant Strobl, what's yours? After you update WolverineAccess, tweet to #UMPronounChallenge! @YAF @YAFUMich

HeatStreet reports that Strobl decided to use the program to point out how crazy it is to force everyone else to call people by these preferred pronouns. If someone fails to refer to another person by their preferred pronoun, they may be punished.
Strobl is not the only one to make such a change. Other new University of Michigan pronouns include: "His Grace," "Her Royal Highness," and "The Exalted Reverend Doctor Architect."
Students go on to a university online portal and can choose from a list of existing pronouns, or they can create one of their own that better fits their identity.
