A recently launched website that blames Tom Steyer for destroying small towns across the United States appears to have gotten under the skin of the billionaire environmentalist, who has already blocked the site's corresponding Twitter account.
The website, Steyerville.com, launched earlier this month with stories of communities in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia that were thriving but were decimated because of efforts by Steyer and the environmentalist activists he bankrolls. The website's creators at Power The Future wanted him to know they held him accountable, so they view his decision to block the Steyerville Twitter account as a "badge of honor."
"Being blocked by Tom Steyer is a badge of honor for Power The Future," said executive director Daniel Turner. "If only we could block rural communities from the millions he spends to bankrupt them."
"We’re the first group to call him out, and I’m proud this new organization is holding him accountable," Turner said. "If Power The Future is getting under his skin, then that’s a good thing for American democracy."
Turner says Steyer is yet to get in touch regarding the Steyerville website. Steyer did not return requests for comment.
