Senator Marco Rubio (R., Fl) emphasized the need for border security in the immigration reform bill currently being crafted in the senate Tuesday morning.
Security along the US-Mexico border is to include construction of a wall and the use of technology and manpower, Rubio told CNBC's "Squawk Box."
Rubio is currently working in a group of eight senators determined to pass comprehensive immigration reform but he has signalled that any bill must include border security and a nationwide worker-verification system.
The immigration bill passed the Senate Judiciary Committee with a 13-5 vote last month and debate in the full senate is expected to begin later this month.
