The Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) called for increased consumer protection for those signing up for Obamacare on Tuesday.
They are still concerned about "navigators," the people who have been hired to help enroll people in Obamacare and are poorly regulated.
"It is obvious that the implementation of Obamacare is riddled with problems," said Chris Jankowski, president of the Republican State Leadership Committee, on behalf of RAGA. "Republican attorneys general are right to call for better protection for consumers from the government’s use of poorly regulated navigators. Today these navigators are canvassing the nation to sign up Americans for Obamacare, with concerning levels of access to sensitive information coupled with minimal oversight, training and background checks.
Thirteen Republican attorneys general sent a letter to Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius about their concerns over consumer protection and privacy.
