A reporter asked EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt whether his restaurant choice the prior night was a "symbolic gesture" during a press briefing on Friday.
Pruitt appeared at the White House daily press briefing to speak to reporters the day after President Trump announced that the United States would be withdrawing from the Paris climate accord, a global agreement to curb greenhouse gas emissions.
As Pruitt was leaving the room after concluding his remarks, a reporter yelled out a question that caused others in the room to chuckle.
"Why did you celebrate at a French restaurant last night? Was that a symbolic gesture?" a journalist sitting in the front row of the briefing room asked Pruitt.
The question appeared to ask whether Pruitt's choice of food had any relation to the home city of the climate change agreement.
