Nevada health exchange director Jon Hager announced his resignation Thursday, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Hager will leave the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange board on March 14.
The health exchange has faced website problems, long wait times at call centers, and low enrollment. One woman had to wait 115 days to obtain insurance through the website.
The Las Vegas Sun reported on Thursday that the health exchange lowered its projected enrollment from 118,000 to 50,000.
Hager said in a press statement that he was "grateful to the board and the governor for this incredible opportunity to serve Nevadans. However, it is time to use my new found knowledge to pursue the opportunities that have been offered to me."
