A seven-story apartment complex under construction was consumed by fire early Monday morning in Los Angeles, causing millions of dollars in damage and significant traffic delays.
KTLA reporter noted the wooden frames of the building were like "matchsticks up in flames."
Around 250 fighters, 20 percent of the force, were dispatched to contain the blaze.
"This looked like something out of 9/11," one firefighter said.
The fire was not the only problem for the firefighters. Heat from the blaze affected the adjacent buildings, causing debris, including shards of glass, to fall on the firefighters.
