The anti-Israel Middle East lobbying group J Street has once again been crowned the loser of its office building’s annual pumpkin carving contest in what insiders are describing as a demoralizing loss for a group that has few victories to its credit.
This year, J Street entered into the contest a pumpkin it called ‘The Walking Dead,’ a title that critics said is a metaphor for the group itself.
The pumpkin was neither carved nor drawn on, leading some in the building to mock J Street’s entry. This is the second straight year that J Street has lost the contest.
Last year the group submitted a pumpkin with a crooked peace sign carved into its flesh. Pumpkin insiders speculated that it had been carved by a child.
This year’s effort was no less inept.
Rather than attempt to carve the pumpkin, J Street officials wrapped the Halloween fruit in toilet paper and glued eyeballs to its front.
The brand and thickness of the toilet paper could not be determined.
"We wouldn’t have to worry about an Iranian nuke if J Street’s pumpkin brigades were running Fordow and Natanz," a source said.
