Gutowski Breaks Down Groups, Celebrities Behind Pro-Gun Control 'March for Our Lives'

Washington Free Beacon reporter Stephen Gutowski appeared on "The Ingraham Angle" Monday night to discuss the organizers and money behind the upcoming "March for our Lives" for new gun laws.

Gutowski and host Laura Ingraham dissected the "media narrative" that students are chiefly behind the March 24 marches in Washington, D.C., and around the country pushing for more gun control.

"It's just the kids put this all on themselves. They're very talented kids ... The reality is that's not true. There's a number of groups that are helping organize this event," Gutowski said, including Everytown for Gun Safety, which receives funding from billionaire and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Everytown created a new initiative called Students Demand Action, similar to Moms Demand Action, shortly after the Feb. 14 massacre at Stoneman Douglas High School that left 17 dead.

Ingraham said there would be a "massive push" for voter registration at the event. Gutowski noted organizations that were also behind the Women's March have applied for permits for this march as well. They include Planned Parenthood, MoveOn and the Women's March itself.

There's also a celebrity push from major players like George Clooney, Stephen Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey with large donations to the effort.

Gutowski said the gun issue had not been a net positive for Democrats in the past, noting pushes for gun control have driven Republican voters to the polls because of their support for the Second Amendment.
