Ellison Barber: Obama Likely to Selectively Highlight Obamacare 'Successes'

Ellison Barber Previews the State of the Union With The Manhattan Institute's Daniel DiSalvo

Writer for the Washington Free Beacon Ellison Barber previewed tonight's State of the Union address with the Manhattan Institute's Daniel DiSalvo Tuesday on the Blaze TV.

Barber asked DiSalvo if he expected President Obama to selectively highlight certain states where Obamacare's rollout has been less rocky.

DiSalvo agreed and added the president is likely to emphasize states like Kentucky where officials implemented a more streamlined approach than the federal government with respect to Obamacare exchanges.

However, Barber noted, the underlying age demographics still do not look good for long term sustainability in Kentucky. Only 32 percent of signups for private coverage and medicaid in Kentucky are between the ages of 18-34, a number that must increase if premiums are to remain stable.
