Dem. Rep. Moran Acknowledges Obama's Broken Healthcare Promise

'We're all human'

Rep. Jim Moran (D., Va.) acknowledged President Obama's broken healthcare promise Tuesday on MSNBC.

Moran played down Obama's previous guarantees that all individuals could keep their health insurance if they liked it, suggesting presidents are prone to engage in "hyperbole":

JIM MORAN: […] You know, presidents sometimes engage in a little hyperbole. You remember President Bush years ago announcing mission accomplished with the Iraq war years before we pulled out and finally last year. I think in retrospect he might have preferred a little more nuance out of what he had to say.

CHRIS JANSING: Democrats made a lot of hay with that one and they have up until now. Are you suggesting the president wishes he had said things differently and would take it back if he could?

JIM MORAN: You know, we're all human. I think the president is rightfully excited about the Affordable Care Act. I think it is going to be a very positive accomplishment in his legacy. […]
