An Indiana councilman is refusing to resign after his arrest for soliciting sex from an undercover police officer, RTV6 reports. The Beech Grove, Ind. mayor says David Mobley, a Democrat, has refused to step down from his seat on the city council.
ANCHOR: And there are demands this morning for the resignation of a Beech Grove city councilman, arrested for the solicitation of an undercover police officer.
Metro police took Democrat David Mobley into custody shortly after 11 a.m. yesterday, after he allegedly offered $20 for oral sex. Police say Mobley initially denied soliciting sex until the officer told him that she’d recorded the conversation on tape. Mobley was elected to the Beech Grove Council in January as an at-large councilmember.
