Speaker John Boehner (R., OH) started off his weekly press conference Thursday by slamming Obamacare for reducing hours worked in the U.S., as the CBO projected earlier this week. Boehner argued the White House made a "joke" out of the report, when officials argued that the reduced hours show that people will have the freedom to leave jobs they don’t want because they’ll have access to health coverage.
"Under the law people will work less and under its employer mandate, wages will be lower. And in the end the law’s going to drive 2.5 million full time workers out of the economy," Boehner said. "Just like that, gone. They made a joke out of it. Come on. That’s the attitude that’s produced the worst economic record in all of history and it’s more proof that the law must go."
