President Joe Biden plans to run for reelection in 2024 but is unprepared to make a formal announcement, he told NBC's Today show on Monday.
"I plan on running … but we're not prepared to announce it yet," Biden said in an interview before the White House Easter Egg Roll.
Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have both said they will run together in 2024, despite their poor approval ratings. Polls show that a majority of Democrats don't want another four years for the 80-year-old president.
Top White House officials are finalizing a launch of Biden's reelection campaign, NBC News reported.
"The decision part is over, but [Biden] resents the pressure to have to announce what he's already decided," one source familiar with the matter told NBC.
