Squatty Potty, the company best known for its trademark toilet stools, has dumped Kathy Griffin as the star of its new ad campaign after the celebrity comic took part in a photo shoot involving her holding a severed, bloodied head that resembled President Trump.

Griffin was tapped to star in the ad campaign for Squatty Potty, a self-described "small family business" that previously appeared on the hit ABC show "Shark Tank." The comic's role as a spokesperson was scrapped, however, after she appeared in a controversial photo shoot by photographer Tyler Shields in which she held what appeared to be a fake, severed Trump head.

Griffin apologized for the picture on Tuesday, hours after it surfaced. CEO Bobby Edwards issued a statement on Wednesday condemning Griffin for participating in the photo shoot.

"We were shocked and disappointed to learn about the image Ms. Griffin shared today. It was deeply inappropriate and runs contrary to the core values our company stands for," Edwards said. "In response, Squatty Potty has suspended its ad campaign featuring Ms. Griffin. We have acted swiftly and decisively to demonstrate our commitment to a culture of decency, civility, and tolerance."

Squatty Potty LLC was founded in 2011 and operates out of Saint George, Utah.

"Its flagship product, the Squatty Potty stool, is designed to help users assume the squatting position while using the bathroom, delivering fast, complete elimination with comfort and ease," according to the company.
