Former Texas Gov. and Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry is going to compete on ABC’s hit show Dancing With the Stars for its 23rd season.
The pairings of competitors were announced Tuesday on ABC’s Good Morning America.
Perry tweeted out a photo Monday with his dancing partner, Emma Slater. Perry also said that he is going to use the show to help veterans.

The 66-year-old governor will be competing against two Olympic gold medalists, controversial swimmer Ryan Lochte and gymnast Laurie Hernandez. Celebrities who are also in the competition show against the former governor include model Amber Rose and Maureen McCormick, the actress who played Marcia Brady on The Brady Bunch.
The first episode of the season will air on Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).
