Detroit Lions tight end Joseph Fauria missed practice last Thursday due to a sprained ankle. Unlike most NFL injuries, Fauria's sprained ankle involved a puppy, according to Sports Illustrated.
Lions head coach Jim Caldwell was a little vague when he announced last week that tight end Joseph Fauria would not be practicing because he injured his ankle at home.
He should have given the details, though, because it turns out the explanation is really cute.
It turns out that Fauria was chasing after his puppy to keep him from peeing inside the house when he twisted his ankle.

Fauria said he's focusing on getting back on the field and told everybody not to blame Lil' Rufio.
Now I'm only concentrating on getting back on the field ASAP! Please no death threats to Lil' Rufio, he's just a pup! pic.twitter.com/Q1O5QM41RW — Joseph Fauria (@BigJoeFauria) September 29, 2014
