NBC Can't Get Through a Eulogy Without Showing Liberal Bias

NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams couldn't get through his eulogy of Howard Baker Thursday without taking a shot across the bow at the Republican Party.

Williams referred to Baker, the late former Republican Senator from Tennessee, as a "Republican so moderate it might make him a Democrat today."

The implicit assumption made by Williams was that the Democratic Party of today is centrist, a rather questionable idea.

Baker died Thursday at the age of 88. In addition to serving as Senate Majority Leader and Minority Leader, he was President George W. Bush's ambassador to Japan and President Ronald Reagan's Chief of Staff during his second term.
