One man’s delight in classic comfort food is the bane of another man’s existence.
A man was arrested on Friday after an altercation with his brother escalated due to one of the brothers’ eating habits.
Jerome Davis made three peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and ate them in the brothers’ living room. An hour later, he made three more peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. He consumed all six sandwiches within the hour, causing his brother to approach him and tell him he was overeating.
The brother and the victim entered into a yelling match, each accusing the other of "being lazy and ‘eating again," according to a police report.
Fearing his safety, Jerome Davis, the peanut butter and jelly sandwich aficionado, pulled out a folding knife and held it to his brother’s face and threatened to cut him.
Police quickly arrived at the scene and took two folding knives from Davis.
David told police that he threatened his brother because he would not "shut the (expletive) up and mind his own business."
Davis has been charged with assault domestic abuse with a weapon and was taken to a Polk County, Iowa jail.
