An Arizona man created the American Flag Challenge early this month after seeing video of protesters stomping on the flag.

Bryce Wagoner said the disrespect he saw motivated him to do something to honor the flag and all it stands for, NBC 12 reports.

Bryce Wagoner posted a video of himself and his cat Sunday in hopes of renewing American pride and patriotism. Wagoner told 12 News he was tired of seeing disrespect directed at the American flag. He started the challenge and his video already has over 6,000 views.

"All I ask is for people to put a flag up at their home or place of business, and display that we are all still proud to be Americans," Wagoner said.

Wagoner's Facebook has been viewed over 2 million times since he and his kitten issued the challenge, USA Today reports.

Wagoner's personal Facebook page had so many hits, more than 2 million, that he's had to build several others that also have "blown up," he said.

"I'm glad the message went this far. It's a simple message but it has a lot of meaning to a lot of people," Wagoner in an interview with WTSP-TV, Tampa-St. Petersburg, Fla.
