Today on the Senate floor Harry Reid seemed confused as to the name of D.C.’s hometown baseball team. In his opening statement, Sen. Reid referred to the Washington Nationals as the Washington Mets.
SEN. HARRY REID: So, Mr. President, let's see if we can come up with an example. Davey Johnson is a manager of National Mets. This team we're so happy to have here in Washington. He’s here as manager of that team to field a winning team. He was a starting second baseman for the Baltimore Orioles when he won four American league pennants, two World Series championships. He’s managed five different baseball teams. He’s two-time manager of the year he lead the Mets to the 1986 World Series as a manager. And last year he took the Nationals franchise to their first division title since 1981.
