ESPN has opted to give host Katie Nolan a warning rather than a suspension for her vulgar comments this week about President Donald Trump.

The sports network said it addressed the matter with Nolan, but it will not punish her beyond that, TMZ reported Friday. Nolan said that Trump was a "fucking stupid person" on Viceland's "Desus & Mero" talk show on Wednesday.

"We have looked into the totality of Nolan's comments, they were inappropriate, and we have addressed it with her," an ESPN representative said.

Nolan mentioned that she had the flu when she made the comments.

"I'm on a lot of meds right now," she said on the show immediately after blurting out the insult.

Nolan was talking to Desus Nice and The Kid Mero about Trump's thumbs-up hand gesture, which has apparently inspired white supremacists to copy him. The first insult she used for him is bleeped out, but then she added that he is a "fucking stupid person."

Nolan hosts digital shows for ESPN, including the Snapchat version of "SportsCenter" and a podcast. In 2016 she won an Emmy award for her Fox Sports show "Garbage Time."
