The 2013 Houston Texans cheerleading roster was revealed in a rose ceremony right out of the Bachelor. And who could be a better giver of roses than the Texans’ number one fan: America’s second-greatest living president, George Herbert Walker Bush.

"When I walked up to meet him, I felt like I was in the presence of a hero. It was awesome," said 2013 Texan cheerleader Caitlyn.

Bush carried himself as such, acting cool and calm when the nubile menagerie mobbed his wheelchair. The team last saw Bush in December when they brought cookies to the hospital where he was fighting bronchitis. To return the favor, Bush called the team, requesting that he welcome the 2013 squad personally.

The 2013 cheer squad seems well-equipped to follow a strong 2012 roster. Texans fans can’t help following Bush’s long gazes toward Iya, Madison, and Rebecca, some of the squad's best assets.

Texans cheerleaders put a premium on athleticism, and Casey, Delaney, and Maria seem flexible enough to meet the challenges of work-life balance.

The 2013 squad is bursting at the seams with talent. But most of all, it's patriotic. Caught in the thrill of meeting Bush, they complimented the former president on his spectacular Star-Spangled socks. The former president responded coyly.

"I’m surprised you noticed them," he said.

Spoken like a true commander in chief.
