Blackburn on Media Blackout of Gosnell Trial: 'It's a Huge Story'

Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R., Tenn.) lashed out at the mainstream media for their lack of coverage of the Gosnell trial Wednesday on the "O'Reilly Factor."

Blackburn said she and 72 of her Congressional colleagues have sent three separate letters to major news outlets requesting an explanation of their rationale for not covering the story.

The congresswoman from Tennessee suggested that the media is avoiding the story either because it does not advance their ideological agenda concerning abortion or because it involves poor women in minority neighborhoods:

BILL O'REILLY: [...] what do the letters say in essence?

MARSHA BLACKBURN: What we have done is asked for clarification as to their choices to not cover this. What we would like to know is is the reasoning behind that we think this is a terribly disturbing issue. Bill, what we would like to know is are they not covering it because it is poor women in minority neighborhoods or is it because they ideologically and politically trying to cover [up] abortion practices even in cases such as the Gosnell house of horrors.
