MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle defended "girly men" on Thursday, telling viewers that "she's got time" for them.
Ruhle's comment came in response to a woman named June Matheny, who told MSNBC reporter Mariana Atencio that she thought CEOs who severed ties with President Donald Trump's advisory councils are "girly men." Ruhle said that the soundbite resonated with her because she is a "girly girl" who appreciates "girly men."
"You did that sound bite just for me," Ruhle told Atencio, referencing Matheny's words. "This girly girl, she's got time for girly men."
"Man, that one killed me," Ruhle added.
Atencio spoke to Matheny in Memphis, Tenn. about the possible removal of Confederate statues. Matheny supported keeping the statues and tied the "girly" CEOs who disagree to a larger societal trend.
"This country has seen a decline in real men, and I think that's what we have," the woman said.
Ruhle has often criticized Trump on air, challenging his character and his administration's policies.
