Mad for Maxine Waters

Rep. Maxine Waters (D., Calif.) is enjoying newfound celebrity in 2017 as "Auntie Maxine," or the "physical embodiment of the Resistance," as MSNBC host and Waters superfan Joy Reid put it.

Reid and other liberal press members are dazzled by the 78-year-old and have bathed her with praise as she repeatedly calls for President Donald Trump's impeachment and tries to "connect the dots" on whether Trump's campaign colluded with the Russians.

She's presented at the MTV Movie Awards, fist-bumped with Reid, and learned what "shade" means. The New York Times profiled her as "going viral," and the Daily Beast referred to her as a "folk hero."

Waters is having quite the year.

With good fortune, she will not again wind up on the list of "Most Corrupt Members of Congress" put out by the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.

On, Maxine!
