Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn will reportedly invoke his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination as he declines to comply with a Senate Intelligence Committee subpoena.

An anonymous source informed the Associated Press of Flynn's intentions.

Flynn's decision comes following the Committee's issuance of a subpoena seeking documents related to their investigation into Flynn's possible ties to the Russian government. The subpoena came after Flynn's lawyer informed the panel that Flynn would not comply with an April 28 request to hand over the same documents voluntarily.

The Committee's interest in Flynn is in part related to Flynn's resignation as National Security Adviser in February, following revelations that Flynn discussed U.S. sanctions on Russia with the Russian Ambassador to the United States.

Committee Chairman Sen. Richard Burr (R, N.C.) previously said that Flynn had not received a response from Flynn as to whether or not he would honor the subpoena.
