Steinem: I Will Take Money Out of My Income Tax and Send It Directly to Planned Parenthood

Feminist icon Gloria Steinem on Tuesday claimed that if Planned Parenthood gets defunded, she and millions of others would take money from their income tax and send it to the women's health and abortion center "directly."

Steinem made her comments while she was being interviewed by ABC 6/FOX 28 reporter Michele Newell during the Planned Parenthood's Centennial Fundraising Gala in downtown Columbus Tuesday night. The feminist icon was giving a speech at the event, which was celebrating the founding of the organization 100 years ago.

Steinem expressed to Newell her concern for the government's involvement with Planned Parenthood.

"If they persist in illegally using our tax dollars, I and millions of others will take that money out of our income tax and send it directly to Planned Parenthood," Steinem said, disregarding the fact that it is not possible to do so.

She then went on to attack President Donald Trump, suggesting that he does not understand how the government works.

"It's dangerous to have someone who doesn't represent America, or even seem to know that there are three branches of government," Steinem said.
