Cuban Grandmother With Alzheimer's Cries Tears of Joy After Castro's Death

A Florida woman recorded the emotion of her Cuban grandmother with Alzheimer's disease as she told her the news that longtime Cuban dictator Fidel Castro had died.

Ivis Suarez posted the video on Facebook, and the Blaze reported the story Tuesday.

In the video, Suarez tells her grandmother in Spanish that she has good news. Suarez then wraps her grandmother in a large Cuban flag as she explains that Castro is dead. Suarez's grandmother begins crying almost instantly, using the flag to wipe her tears.

"Not even Alzheimer's could take away the emotions my abuela Ata felt when she found out that monster had died!" Suarez wrote on Facebook with the video. "Thanks to her, my family is in this country today."

Suarez included the hashtag "#GoodRiddanceFidel."

Many Cubans who live in and near Miami, like Suarez, have been celebrating the death of the dictator whose nearly five-decade rule was characterized by human rights abuses and political oppression.
