Disgraced former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards and the mistress that cost him his career are rushing to have a second child before his federal corruption trial, according to the Daily Mail.
Edwards impregnated Rielle Hunter, a filmmaker drawing paychecks from the campaign, while on the trail, and allegedly used $1 million in donations to cover up the affair and the baby girl, Quinn, it produced. His wife of 33 years, Elizabeth, had just beaten cancer at the time. She died in 2010.
The couple has now decided to have another baby as 48-year-old Hunter's 'biological clock is ticking loudly', the National Enquirer reported.
'She's made having another baby a top priority,' a source told the tabloid.
The pressure is also on because of Edwards' impending federal trial; he has been accused of using campaign funds to cover the affair.
