NBC and MSNBC personalities have congratulated the heck out of each other for the Democratic debate put on by the network Sunday night.
Moderated by NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt and longtime reporter Andrea Mitchell, the debate and its subsequent commentary was hailed as "substantive," "lively," "amazing," "wonderful," "terrific," and "great." Those terms were all used by NBC personalities or contributors.
At one point, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow trumpeted the 10 million viewers that watched even though it was buried on a Sunday night during a holiday weekend, beating the last two network weekend debates in the ratings. Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) has come under criticism from her own party for limiting the number of debates and scheduling them on weekends.
