An abortionist at a Planned Parenthood facility in Austin, Texas, discussed the methods she uses to keep the bodies of aborted babies in prime condition for the researchers who purchase them from her clinic in undercover footage released on Tuesday.

"My aim is usually to get the specimens out pretty intact," said Dr. Amna Dermish in footage captured by the Center for Medical Progress, an anti-abortion nonprofit organization.

Dermish told actors posing as researchers that she was currently unable to extract useable brain tissue from intact fetal heads. "I haven’t been able to do that yet," she said.

"This will give me something to strive for!" she added.

Dermish told the undercover videographers that she performs abortions on "specimens" up to 21 weeks and mentioned her use of ultrasound technology to shift fetuses’ positions and guide her extractions.

The release of the video follows the failure of the Republican-controlled House of Representatives and Senate to pass a 20-week abortion ban in September. The bill failed in a 54-42 vote.
