President Obama made public his twin "vacation playlists" this week while on summer break in Martha’s Vineyard, but notably excluded from either list is famed rapper and Obama family friend Jay-Z.

The president’s select songs include titles from Coldplay, Justin Timberlake, John Legend, Eryka Badu and other modern music stars as well as classics from the Temptations and the Rolling Stones.

Obama even added a track recorded by Jay-Z’s wife, Beyonce, to one of the playlists, a single called "Superpower" that the songstress performs with Frank Ocean on her most recent album.

Neither list, however, includes even a single song from Jay-Z, despite the fact that the rapper claimed to be friends with the president just two years ago.

"I've spoken to him on the phone and had texts from Obama," the rapper told a New York radio station in the summer of 2013.

Jay-Z has also performed at Obama fundraisers, even cutting a remix of the song "My President" about Obama’s election to the White House.

In fact, Obama referenced the lyrics of Jay-Z’s version of the tune--without crediting the rapper--during his remarks at the 50th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery marches earlier this year.

Jay-Z and Beyonce also hosted a fundraiser that raised $4 million for Obama’s reelection campaign in 2012.

Nevertheless, the president will apparently refrain from listening to any Jay-Z titles during his 17-day summer vacation on the Massachusetts island from which he will return Aug. 23.
