Chris Cuomo: SVU

Objective CNN anchor cross-examines Tom Cotton

March 10, 2015

Law & Order fans, don't worry. The recently ended NBC show has a new home on CNN.

And it's New Day host Chris Cuomo leading the way. Cuomo went all Jack McCoy on Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) Tuesday during an eight-minute interrogation regarding Cotton's open letter to Iran co-signed by 46 other Republicans that warned of the uselessness of a nuclear deal that wasn't supported by this Congress.

Cuomo didn't make any attempt to appear objective as he vented about the actions of the Senate Republicans, appearing especially affronted that a "freshman" senator would have the audacity to do what he did.

"This is about who drives the game and it is the president, and by sending this letter instead of sending it to him, you are undermining his authority," Cuomo said. "Isn't that the truth?"

That dramatic line has been used countless times by prosecutors and defense attorneys in Law & Order's highly charged courtroom scenes.

Many serious people have called the actions of Cotton, a military veteran, treasonous.
