White House 'Considering' AIPAC Invitation, Won't Commit to Sending Official

February 24, 2015

The White House would not commit to sending an administration official to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference.

During his daily press briefing, Press Secretary Josh Earnest refused to divulge any information about the White House’s decision-making process, except that they have received an invitation to AIPAC.

When a reporter further pushed Earnest to clarify that the White House would send, Earnest made it apparent that Obama may not send anyone to address the annual pro-Israel summit.

Tensions have remained high between the Obama administration and pro-Israel activists as leaks indicate the U.S. is making more consolations in the Iran negotiations.

Benjamin Netanyahu is planning to attend AIPAC. His speech to a joint session of Congress was pushed back so he could swing by the major conference while in the United States.
