Will President Obama’s "JV" remark about the Islamic State (IS) come to haunt Democrats in 2016?
"The moment when President Obama said this is the junior varsity is really the low ebb, where, you know, we just weren't taking this threat seriously," Washington Post reporter David Ignatius said.
The White House has been widely blamed for being unprepared to handle the rise of IS.
"I look back with a sense if we'd done some things differently, the problem would not be as bad as we found it over the last year–and that's tough," Ignatius said. "I think that's going to be a big issue in the coming president's campaign."
Hillary Clinton will have to decide if it is politically beneficial to associate with Obama’s foreign policy, especially as his former secretary of state.
