"Finger-pointing" between the White House and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is the "clearest indication" that Democrats will lose in the 2014 midterm elections, National Journal correspondent Ron Fournier said Tuesday.
On Monday's "Keepin' It Real with Al Sharpton," Obama said that although they have desperately tried to distance themselves from his presidency, red state Democrats all support his agenda in Congress.
"The clearest indication we have that the Democrats are going to lose is my phone was lighting up yesterday with White House officials blaming Senate candidates and Senate campaign committee and Senate campaigns complaining about the White House," Fournier said. "There's already finger-pointing inside the Democratic party."
New York Times journalist Jonathan Martin said the timing of Obama's cringe-worthy statements give Republicans a clear advantage going into November 4.
"I think that sound bite will be on radio ads by today," Martin said. "It's two weeks out. That's the message you usually hear two days out on African-American radio, and the fact that there's two weeks out gives the GOP an opportunity to push that out."
