Alison Lundergan Grimes refused to answer a reporter’s question about a newly published report that found the Kentucky Democrat is using a 45-foot-long campaign bus that was bought by her father’s company and is being rented by the campaign for a lower rate. Her rent payments did not include charges for bus fuel. Such a transaction is in direct violation of campaign finance laws.
Grimes arrived at the 51st Annual Ham Breakfast and was immediately asked by a reporter about the scandal. "There’s a new report out about the fuel [of the bus]. Are you going to review anything about that?" the reporter asked her.
"We’re excited to be here at the Annual Ham Breakfast and especially getting 500 pounds of eggs and 500 pounds of ham this morning," Grimes answered.
