Israel's U.N. Ambassador: Equating Israel and Hamas Like Equating U.S. and Al Qaeda

Israel's U.N. Ambassador Ron Prosor strongly objected to U.S. criticism of Israel's attack on a U.N. school in Gaza, saying it amounts to equating Israel and Hamas.

CNN's Erin Burnett asked Prosor to comment on the U.S. criticism: "The United States has come out, as you know, and called Israel's actions disgraceful and appalling. What do you say to the United States?

"I say, look, the real question here, is who's the bad guy here?" Prosor replied.

Prosor reminded Burnett that Hamas uses facilities like schools to launch rockets at Israel, but added that Israel is investigating the incident of the school. "And I can tell you we won't shy away from taking responsibility."

"But in a sense," Prosor said, "you are trying to equate--and this is my point here--a democracy like Israel with a terror organization like Hamas. This is like equating the United States with al Qaeda."
