Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin and Joshua Green agreed Hillary Clinton’s failed book tour has exposed her "rustiness" and suggested that she is making the same mistakes she made during her failed 2008 presidential run.
"I think it's consensus within the chattering class that her book tour has not been great in terms of talking about these issues and it exposed rustiness in the fact that she’s not as good of a politician as her husband. Does this have any implications as far as you see now for 2016 if she runs?" Halperin asked Green.
"The problem she seems to be making in her book tour is the one she made last time around as a presidential candidate. So much caution and calculation and she won't really say anything new or interesting. The book reads as though it had been scrubbed by a team of 100 lawyers. And so you create this vacuum where you can't have a gaffe like your line about wealth kind of explode and suddenly you're a candidate defending yourself against charges you didn't want to talk about. If that is going to happen continually going forward I think this could be a snapshot what is to come," Green responded.
