Speaker of the House John Boehner (R., Ohio) said it appeared the wheels were coming off the Obama presidency Thursday during his weekly press conference, citing myriad failures of foreign policy in particular.
"The spread of terrorism has increased exponentially under this president's leadership," Boehner said. "After the last election, I said that I hoped the president would seize this moment and take the lead. And here we are, a year-and-a-half later, you look at this presidency and you can't help but get the sense that the wheels are coming off."
Even MSNBC might agree. The Daily Rundown host and White House reporter Chuck Todd said the public had essentially told Obama his presidency was "over" with a new poll showing 54 percent felt he could no longer get things done.
Boehner also called out the administration's national energy tax that would "destroy American jobs," the targeting of conservative groups by the IRS and its subsequent excuse for losing two years of ex-tax-exemption chief Lois Lerner's emails, and the scandal within the Department of Veterans Affairs that led to Eric Shinseki's resignation.
