Johnny Manziel and Rob Gronkowski spent the long weekend checking out Las Vegas' impressive pool scene.

Times like these make me sad that the RNC gave up on the dream of holding the 2016 convention in Vegas so easily.  We could have been somebody, RNC!

2016 convention-griping aside, the future Cleveland Brown starter took in the flora and fauna of Freedom Season.

Gronk was not to be upstaged by the rookie.

As soon as Manziel hit "post" on his Instagram, ESPN got Herm Edwards and Mark Brunell in front of a camera. Shockingly, Edwards was cool with it and Brunell was the killjoy who whined that frolicking outside during the off-season reflected a "lack of leadership" on the young QB's part. Maybe Brunell is on to to something. After all, he led the Redskins to their only playoff win since 2000.

I don't care how Johnny Football spends his off-season. Manziel has plenty of time to get right for rookie training camp. His biggest win of the weekend is picking In-N-Out over Fatburger. What concerns me is Manziel throwing fade routes into the Wet Republic pool to Gronk. This is what happened the last time Gronk caught a ball.

Ever since the Ravens tweaked Gronk's ankle in the 2012 AFC title game, Gronk has been a walking M.A.S.H. unit. His productivity has plummeted, catching just 94 balls in two injury-plagued years, a paltry sum compared to the 90 he caught in his breakthrough 2011 season. All that partying catches up to you.

Like Manziel, Gronkowski was a once-in-a lifetime talent before injuries and heavy partying made him mortal.

Don't party rock too hard, JFF.
