NBC’s Chuck Todd scolded the White House for its latest pushback against the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office’s minimum wage report, labeling the administration "petty" for only agreeing with the CBO when it agrees with them.
Todd mentioned that the White House has touted the CBO on many occasions in the past, but said, "I’m surprised the White House have been as aggressive they have been trying to push back on the CBO on this. They now look just as petty if basically you agree with the CBO only if they agree with you."
The CBO recently found that raising the federal minimum wage to $10.10 an hour, one of President Obama’s top priorities for 2014, would result in roughly 500,000 jobs lost. This coupled with the CBO’s January report that Obamacare would discourage people to work has led the White House to discredit the validity of the CBO’s findings.
As the White House now knows: live by the CBO, die by the CBO.
