The Washington Free Beacon’s Ellison Barber joined Fox News’ The Kelly File to discuss Congress’ recent budget deal.
"Both parties think the deal is good for them politically, but not necessarily good substantively," Barber said. While Democrats wanted to pass a budget bill to shift focus to the GOP’s legislative track record, Barber noted, Republicans wanted to pass the budget to "keep the focus on the fallout and the problems with the Affordable Care Act."
On Pelosi’s heavy criticism of the bill while still voting for it, Barber said, "It seemed to diminish the importance of the budget by saying ‘This is terrible, but let’s pass it.’"
