"The Obama administration is embarrassed to say," according to a new ad released today by the pro-Israel Emergency Committee for Israel.
The 30-second spot highlights President Obama’s hesitance to state that Jerusalem is the Jewish state’s capital city—a declaration that Mitt Romney had no problem making during his recent trip to Israel, a country that Obama has not visited during his four-year stint in the Oval Office.
"President Obama is embarrassed to visit Israel," the ad states. "Mitt Romney is proud to visit and proud to say: ‘It’s a deeply moving experience to be in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel.’"
The spot is set to run in Florida, a contested swing state that boasts a large Jewish population, including many older Jewish people.
According to BuzzFeed:
The ad buy, which is targeted to the top three Jewish population areas of Florida, will be shown an emphasis on Marlins games, local broadcast, and sitcoms favored by older voters according to Noah Pollak, the executive director of ECI, who declined to disclose the amount the group is spending.
